Pharmacy

Blister plaster, first aid kit, insect repellent, mosquito protection, personal medicine, tweezers, scissors, safety pins, sun protection, sun blocker, handkerchiefs, and ointment

Others

Binoculars, camera and films, mobile phone, sanitary articles, compass, garbage bags, sewing kit, sun glasses, flashlight, pocket knife, accommodation directory, walking sticks, passport, bank card, credit card, health insurance card

Journey with public transport (ÖPNV)

Please use means of public transport for your arrival and your departure. In doing so you are taking care of the environment and can walk light-hearted without having to worry about parking for your vehicle. Please check the timetables in advance because particularly at weekends the local transport is often restricted.

Trails

Many trails are left in their original state. Hence, the condition of the trails, especially during spells of wet-weather, can be partly wet and slippery. So you should always have solid footwear and weatherproof clothes with you. The forest and the trails are partly private owned and are used and operated by (forest) farmers. Please be considerate and respect the signs.

Hiking in the countryside

In order not to hamper nature and not to interfere with animals and plants, you should consider the following: The forests and valleys constitute the living space for animals and plants. When observing animals please do not disturb them in their familiar environment. Do not take plants home and please always keep your dog on a lead. Stay on the marked trails to avoid risking getting lost in the woods. Please take home your waste - it is helpful to take a garbage bag along. Avoid open fire and do not throw away burning cigarettes.

Possibilities to stop for a bite to eat and to stay overnight

Especially when planning a trip of several days, please consider that also guest houses and other accommodation are available. A prior reservation guarantees you a free bed after an exhausting trip. At some legs there are only a few hosts, so you should pack your food accordingly.
