Trails where you can experience the seasons closely, step by step, where you can discover history, let your eyes wander and enjoy fantastic views, cover distances and leave landscapes behind. You can do all this on the “Hermannshöhen”. Situated in the midst of the Teutoburg forest area, they offer a network of trails of unique diversity:

People who want to go hiking are looking for quality. They are looking for trails which are very well signposted, for warm, welcoming inns along the way, for comfortable accommodation and many experiences. This is why the “Hermannshöhen” are almost irresistible: 226 kilometres which connect three holiday regions perfectly. They connect the "Münsterland" to the "Sauerland" and thus also make accessible the Teutoburg forest. You will find lowland decorated with much water as well as hearty rises.
Here two trails along the ridge which have a long tradition and which are well marked with an "H" for the "Hermannsweg" and an „X1“ for the "Eggeweg" show how beautiful the world between stress-free natural parks and small towns - some of them being real treasures - can be. And all this subdivided into 10 classical stages, which on average are 23 kilometres long. Or for fitness fans it could also be 18 legs, each of which turns the approximately 17,500 "walking metres" into active pleasure.
For „beginners“ or for hikers using the car as well, who only can spare one hour occasionally, more than 60 accesses are well signposted. This makes it possible to just do a few kilometres on foot from time to time, for example with the help of 14 tour tips around the “Hermannshöhen”. Here a tour of the "Gräften" is as attractive as the tour of the "Moorköche" (moorland cooks) – or the rope dance on the “Hermannshöhen”.
